Our early morning walk along the NTT track produced a Woodcock and then a White's Thrush momentarily on the path followed by the first two male Elegant Buntings of our trip. We then met Mida-san at the Dragon's Pool (where a Coot was present) who kindly told us that he had just found a Long-billed Plover along the west shore - only the second record for Hegura. We quickly relocated the Plover and found a Brown Shrike nearby. We then walked the SW beach and enclosures and then Tsukasa where we relocated the adult Japanese Waxwing. The afternoon produced the first 3 Grey Buntings of the trip and in clear conditions we watched an exodus of 200 Dusky Thrushes heading off high south at dusk.
